Woooooo new state alert! We're in Atlanta, Georgia!
I was really excited for Atlanta, just because I knew nothing about it other than the fact that I had heard the name! So I was looking forward to discovering what Atlanta had in store for us.
Before I go on, I have since learned that the neighborhoods of Atlanta are really the gemstones of the city, and we were downtown the whole time. So bummer we missed out on that, but still - fun!
The day we arrived was a Saturday, so we decided to go out on the town to experience some DownTown Atlanta nightlife. After scoping out some places that seemed not the vibe, we ended up at Metro Diner where they were hosting karaoke!
We went up to the second floor and enjoyed some drinks and I got a giant piece of carrot cake.
We signed up for karaoke, but the DJ was not in the karaoke mood apparently, because he would only move forward on the list every 20 minutes. Eventually, we had to call it a night - I fear Atlanta will never hear my take on “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield.
Event day! This is one I was really looking forward to - we were right in the lot of World of Coca-Cola!
We haven’t had an event with loads of people since before August break, so this was a welcome change. Everyone LOVED the Nut at WoCC and we were a hit all four hours we were there.
While I was passing out peanuts, a girl came up to Katie and asked “Is there someone who works here whose name is Jessie?”
I went “Yeah, that’s me?” 🤨
She looked at me and said, “I’m Helen, I’m one of your crochet pattern testers!”
I LEAPT OUT OF MY CHAIR SAYING “OH MY GOD!” and ran around the peanut table to hug her.
If you didn’t know I have an Instagram page (@crochessiecarl) that I’ve been posting on since October 2023. I’ve been writing crochet patterns and publishing them on Etsy and part of that process includes getting other people who crochet on Instagram to test the patterns for me before I sell them! Helen has tested 2/3 patterns I’ve written and I’ve never met her in person. She isn’t even from Atlanta, she was also just visiting so it was truly just absolute luck. And it totally made my day!
After we finished our shift passing out peanuts, the manager of the museum let us take a tour of the World of Coca-Cola for free! It was definitely one of the coolest museums I’ve been to so far (do I say that every time?). The best part was how many interactive elements there were - we got to create our own flavors of soda, and taste sodas from all over the world!
We spent about 2 hours in the museum and a whole other hour in the merch store - it was HUGE and each of us walked out with over $100 worth of goodies.
That evening, we caught back up with the Weens we met in Nashville, Cooper, and Kaitlyn!
We treated them to a pizza party and Jackbox in Katie's rooms - she got upgraded to the penthouse suite at our hotel so it was the perfect place to host. We had so much fun with the group that Cooper and Kait ended up staying past their WeinerMobile curfew and they crashed in our hotel rooms for the night.
Impromptu sleepover!

A day off in Atlanta was definitely needed! Katie and I made our way to the GA Aquarium - known for being the largest in the world! We had an amazing time and excellent timing. For both the sea lion and dolphin show we walked in right before the shows started and had great seats (out of the splash zone, thankfully)
Something about seeing the sea lions so up close made me so emotional and I was genuinely crying the entire show. I was like what is happening to me?!? but I could not stop crying!
My other favorite parts of the aquarium were the sea otters and the jellyfish, which both were exhibits I could have watched for hours.
This aquarium was truly one of the coolest I've been to - it certainly earns its title because it was HUGE.
I spent the rest of the night in, taking some much-needed R&R before our drive to tomorrow - off to Charleston, South Carolina!
